About the Journal

Aims & Scope

Momentum Quarterly (alternatively: Momentum Quarterly - Journal for Societal Progress) is a transdisciplinary scientific journal, aiming to improve the discursive and thematic connection between research and politics. Following this basic principle, Momentum Quarterly publishes specifically works that provide a well-founded scientific reflection of political topics and problems, thereby emphasizing thematic and disciplinary openness. By publishing progressive ideas and concepts as well as critical reflections of extant political praxis, Momentum Quarterly tries to balance conceptual autonomy and connection with politics.

Momentum Quarterly was founded in 2012, has been published by innsbruck university press (iup) since 2017, and is released four times a year online.

The ISSN (online) for the journal is: 2226-5538.

Peer Review Process

All articles published in Momentum Quarterly undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. This implies that the identities of the reviewers and the authors are always concealed from both parties. Submitted manuscripts are first screened by the editors. Those that fit within the Aims & Scope of the journal undergo peer review. Submitted manuscripts are treated confidentially by editors and reviewers.

Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two referees. Reviewers may be members of the editorial board or external reviewers, who are experts in their field. The final publication decision is made by the editors based upon the reviews. In case of doubt, i.e. with at least one vote in favor of publishing, the manuscript will be published.

Momentum Quarterly seeks to accomplish the review process in a timely manner.
